The special module is aimed at adults with German as a second language at B1 level who want to work in retail, are in training or employment and want to expand their language skills in a targeted manner.

The vocational language courses build on the integration courses. They are committed to advanced language acquisition in order to improve their chances on the labour and training market.

Skills development

The aim of teaching these skills is to combine the requirements of independent language use with the concrete requirements in the working world of retail.

As part of the German course, various job-specific situations are clarified that salespeople, cashiers or specialist salespeople have to face:

Requirements

  • are registered as jobseekers and/or receive benefits under SGB II or SGB III, or

  • are looking for an apprenticeship or are undergoing an apprenticeship or have already undergone a recognition procedure for your vocational or training qualification

  • have already completed an integration course and/or already speak German at B1, B2 or C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

  • Immigrants, including refugees who are in the recognition process and have good prospects of staying (the latter currently applies to the five countries of origin Syria, Iran, Iraq, Eritrea and Somalia). Refugees from safe countries of origin are excluded.
  • citizens of the EU.

Aim of the course

Upon successful completion of the general vocational course B2, the student will receive

The basic module comprises 300 teaching units of 45 minutes each

Cost

Participation in the course is free of charge.
Exception: Employees must pay a cost contribution of 50% of the cost reimbursement rate.
*The courses are financed by the federal budget.
