The integration course teaches German for everyday life as well as knowledge about history, culture and the legal system in Germany.

About the course

Learn German for your life – practical, personal, successful.

The integration course consists of a language course and an orientation course.
In the language course, you will learn the vocabulary for all important areas of daily life.

In the subsequent orientation course, you will learn important and interesting things about Germany, such as German history, culture and the legal system.

Requirements

  • all ethnic German resettlers and newly immigrated people with permanent residence status,

  • Foreigners who have been living in Germany for a longer period of time, EU citizens and Germans who are particularly in need of integration (on application within the framework of available course places),

  • Asylum seekers with good prospects of staying, tolerated persons with a residence permit pursuant to Section 60a (2) sentence 3 of the Residence Act and holders of a residence permit pursuant to Section 25 (5) of the Residence Act.

  • Since 1 January 2017, asylum seekers with good prospects of staying, tolerated persons with a residence permit in accordance with Section 60a (2) sentence 3 of the Residence Act and holders of a residence permit in accordance with Section 25 (5) of the Residence Act can also be obliged to take an integration course by the providers of benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act.

  • <pclass=”elementor-icon-list-text”>newly immigrated people who cannot communicate orally in German in a simple way or who do not yet have sufficient knowledge of the German language,
  • Foreigners who are particularly in need of integration and are requested to participate by the Foreigners’ Registration Office,
  • Foreigners who receive benefits according to SGB II and are asked to participate by the basic security institutions.

Procedure of the integration course

Placement and Course Assignment

All participants take a placement test before the start of the course. The results determine the course module; if necessary, a special integration course is recommended.

Duration

Language course 600 units (A1–B1), orientation course 100 units; for alpha and second script learners, 900 units.

Aim of the integration course

The aim of the integration course is to pass the final test.

  • Language course: Graduation with DTZ, orientation course: Graduation with LiD → joint certificate integration course.

  • If you do not pass the language test: up to 300 units of repetition + another free exam.
